About your Trainer & her dogs
Hannah Mitchell
A teacher by profession with a good sense of humour!
I have been competing in agility for ten years, reached Championship level with three dogs and have taken part in major finals both Nationally & Internationally. I have run and trained Large, Medium and Small sized dogs for competition.
I am committed to creating & developing new ideas to keep dogs & handlers on top form.
We have already had great success with innovative turn exercises learnt through DAQ classes
before dogs have even been introduced to agility! I believe in the modern sports approach to dog agility & all classes cover:
Sports & Canine/Human Psychology, Diet & Fitness, Dog Massage & the importance of Warming up &
Warming down dogs & handlers for all activities.
I love to see confident, happy, healthy dogs & handlers having fun!
I have been clicker training dogs for the last eleven years & wouldn't do it any other way! I encourage anyone I can to convert to clicker training. We are a clicker based club hence the name " Klix 4 K9s", but dont worry if you aren't sure of this method as no one is forced to do anything they don't want to in the club. Watching other dogs work for their "Clicks & rewards" & seeing how quickly they learn will probably be enough to convince you anyway!
Hannah is a DAQ (Dog Agility and Quickness) Accredited trainer.
Please see our links page for more information about DAQ.

Bramble (Black'n Rapturous at Idadoun)
Nicknames: Shnorbutz, Brambly apple, Nooie, Brambino (The Italian Stallion)
Bramble is my first agility dog. He reached Advanced status & has been retired since July 2005.
During his agility career he qualified for Dogs In Need Finals in 2000 & 2004 (white dog), Semi Finals for Olympia 2003, Crufts 2002 & 2003 (3rd place Eukanuba Mini Circular Knockout), many Championship Class Finals, Mini Cleverdog Champion & Cleverdogs pairs Champion 2003 with his partners Janine & Dee.
Bramble also competed very sucessfully at BFA Flyball for a couple of years & gained his FDI title. He was the first dog I clicker trained to weave using a 2x2 method back in 1998!
Ollie (Tri Again Ollie)
Nicknames: Cro, Ol-old
Ollie is my second agility dog & is now 10 years old.
He was rescued from the RSPCA at a year old & had a very troubled start in life.
He is very sound & movement sensitive. He competed briefly in BFA Flyball & competed in agility for a few years.
He was placed in Starters agility & then competed at Novice/ Intermediate level as Bramble quickly won us out of Starters.
He achieved many clear rounds but found the sights, sounds & stress of the Show environment very difficult to deal with
& I decided to retire him from competition. He was also found by the vet to have a slight back problem. Ollie continued to
train at agility at a lower height as he enjoyed the work so much.
Ollie is now deaf & takes his job of speed training the poodles very seriously!
Purdey (Wightwonder Star Turn)
Nicknames: Purd, Preditor, Nelly Nerdit
Purdey came to us at the age of 7 years. Though too old to start competing at agility, she loved to do the equipment at the training field as it usually got her a tasty treat. The dogwalk & seesaw became her very favourites & she continued to do them very slowly, even with failing eyesight! Purdey learn't to weave in 20 minutes using a clicker, a clever little cookie! She was an incredible ambassador for poodles as everyone who met her fell in love with her. The local children frequently used to wait for her to go out for a walk to say hello to her. Friendly, lively, funny & demanding - thats our Purdey!
Purdey was sadly put to sleep in September 2006 aged 15 years & missed by us all.
